Jeff Wamsley of the world famous MOTHMAN MUSEUM of Point Pleasant, WV will be attending the 2012 Fringe Fair!

The Mothman is a cryptid reportedly seen in the Point Pleasant area of West Virginia from November 15, 1966, to December 15,1967. Most observers describe the Mothman as a man-sized creature with large reflective red eyes and large wings. The creature was sometimes reported as having no head, with its eyes set into its chest.

A number of hypotheses have been presented to explain eyewitness accounts, ranging from misidentification and coincidence, to paranormal phenomena and conspiracy theories.

The Mothman Museum is dedicated to the story and legend of Point Pleasant’s Mothman, a mysterious creature first sighted in 1966. The museum is packed with articles related to The Mothman and, I think most interestingly, three of the four original hand-written accounts from the first four Mothman eyewitnesses taken just after the sighting at the local police station (the fourth hand-written account is lost to history).

Also on display: props from television shows such as Monster Quest, as well as props created for the Hollywood film The Mothman Prophecies.

Jeff has written two books on the Mothman phenomena – Mothman: Behind the Red Eyes and Mothman: The Facts Behind the Legend. He will be lecturing on the Mothman and signing copies of his books. Jeff also plans on bringing some items from the Mothman Museum for display at the Fringe Fair for the weekend.
